Using CBD To Help My Aggressive Dog

Dogs can become aggressive for several other reasons that may need more than training to get under control. If they are in physical pain some dogs react with aggression. Also, if they are feeling scared, anxious, or frustrated. In many of those cases, CBD can help.

However, getting your dog’s aggression under control may require additional help from a professional dog trainer or behaviorist.

Pinpointing the issue is key

First, you will want to try and find out what is making your dog act out. Figuring that out will go a long way in determining your best course of action.

All dogs may become aggressive if they are trying to defend themselves against something they see as a threat.

Aggressive behavior becomes a problem if your dog’s reaction doesn’t quite match the situation. If your dog becomes aggressive when there are little to no actual threats.

For example, if your dog reacts aggressively simply because he is in a car, Or if another dog or person walks by. The aggressive behavior in those instances is not justified. In those examples perhaps the real issue is anxiety. Treating your dog’s anxiety with CBD may help solve the aggression issues too.

How CBD can help

Pain may also be a reason your dog is acting out. If that is the case CBD can be extremely beneficial as well. CBD is known for its pain-killing qualities. Whether it is arthritis, muscle pain, cancer, joint pain, or healing from medical treatment.

CBD can also be tremendously beneficial for dogs who react with aggression when they are scared, anxious, or in situations where they feel stressed or agitated. Maybe your dog hates the groomer, the vet, or reacts badly to being left alone? In those situations, CBD would help.

How you may wonder? I am glad you asked!

Serotonin, known as the ‘happy hormone’ helps stabilize mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness in both humans and dogs. The good news is that CBD is known to boost serotonin levels, improve mood and decrease stress.

If you are wondering how, you need to know the term ‘endocannabinoid system’. This system plays an important role in mediating a variety of functions in the body related to behavior.

CBD helps activate this system and by doing that CBD can change your dog’s neurotransmitter activity in the brain and reduce aggressive behavior in relation to certain situations.

i.e  the car, the vet, the groomers.

Research has found that it works similarly to some prescription medication but CBD is all-natural which is an added plus!
